Advocacy Day In Sacramento
On May 5, 2025, CFRI advocates traveled to Sacramento in honor of Cystic Fibrosis Awareness Month (SCR 51), introduced by Senator John Laird. The day included meetings with 22 legislative offices—both state senators and assembly members—where advocates shared personal stories to raise awareness of CF. Discussions also covered key legislation, including bills to regulate pharmacy benefit managers (SB 41, AB 577), expand MediGap access (SB 242), extend prior authorization periods (AB 539), and improve coverage for colorectal cancer screening (AB 539), among others. It was an inspiring and uplifting day for all involved.
