Art Brace, PhD

Retired Scientist

Dr. Art Brace is a retired research scientist living with Cystic Fibrosis. He received a BA in Biology from Case Western Reserve University and a PhD in Genetics from Stanford University. He spent his scientific career as a researcher at several Biotech companies focused on target discovery, early drug discovery, and drug development. When he retired from full time work he began volunteering as both a scientific advisor and CF patient advocate for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and CFRI. He is a member of the Research Advisory Committee for CFRI and recently joined the Board of Directors. He is on several committees for the CFF including being a patient representative on the Data Safety Monitoring Board for several CF drug development clinical trials and the Adult Advisory Council. Art is passionate about leveraging both his scientific background and lived experience as a CF patient to benefit the CF community. At home he enjoys gardening, cooking, and travel in the US and Europe with his partner Carmen.
