We have some news about scholars (who happen to have CF) embarking on college.
Drew Hotson of Palo Alto is a National Merit Scholar. Soon to graduate from Palo Alto High School, he will be starting at Stanford University in the fall. He has been a research assistant volunteer in the Cystic Fibrosis Research Laboratory at Stanford University, directed by Dr. Jeffrey Wine. Drews mother, Tib Hotson, served many years as CFRIs treasurer. Tib currently chairs CFRIs Ad Hoc Advisory Committee on patient care at Stanford University Hospital.
Claire McCabe also of Palo Alto is finishing up her high school drama career with a role in Railing It Uptown, a one-act play. She has hoofed in the chorus of Anything Goes, sang in Godspell, performed in Our Town, The Rimers of Eldritch, and The Merchant of Venice. Plus, she has survived four years of strike-the-set parties that go into the wee hours of the morning. Her next stop will be Reed College in Portland, Oregon. Claires mother is Jane McCabe, a writer of the feature we call "Good News."
