Michael Silver Resigns as Research Advisory Chairperson

Spring 1997

Michael Silver, who has served as the Chair of the Research Advisory Committee (RAC) since August 1, 1995, resigned earlier this year. Michael was responsible for shepherding over $369,000 worth of research proposals through CFRI's evaluation and review process during his term of office. He also worked with the Board of Directors to formulate new RAC guidelines implemented during his tenure. On behalf of all people with CF, CFRI appreciates Michael's efforts to further research dedicated to understanding and curing this disease. Michael and his wife, Claire, live in Mountain View, California, with their daughter, Rachel, 3, who has cystic fibrosis and is the current poster child for the 1997 Mother's Day Tea brochure.

CFRI's new Research Advisory Chairperson is Margaret DeLano, M.D. Dr. DeLano is also CFRI's CF Family Retreat and CF Conference Medical Advisor.
