Two special people, both having cystic fibrosis, met at the August, 1995 CFRI Conference held in Palo Alto, California. Today they are engaged. Holly Tringl met Brian Moore at the conference when Brian introduced himself to Holly just after she finished a presentation on lung transplantation. It wasn't love at first sight, but they exchanged telephone numbers and their relationship was launched. The two soon discovered they had much in common beyond their CF. They both had lost brothers to cystic fibrosis, and they both have new sets of lungs through transplantation. Neither expected to be this old or this happy.
Holly, age 37, lives in Denver, Colorado and Brian, age 38, lives in Fremont, California. Even though they currently live 1,200 miles apart, they correspond often and make frequent telephone calls to each other. At the Transplant Games in Salt Lake City on August 22, 1996, Brian asked Holly to marry him and gave her an engagement ring. So far, they've been too busy to set a date, but we will keep you posted.
