The Annual CFRI Educational Conference was held in early August this
year at the Holiday Inn in Palo Alto, California. The weather was fine, the company
friendly and supportive, and the lectures first-rate. The following articles are short
synopses of most of the presentations. Because we have complete coverage available on
videotape, we decided to give minimal coverage to the talks in our newsletter. If any
article sparks your interest or covers an area which has been a concern to you, we urge
you to contact the CFRI office to buy or rent the videotape. The actual presentations are
