Request for Proposals
Cystic Fibrosis Research, Inc. (CFRI) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports both basic and translational cystic fibrosis research. In 2012-2014 we are seeking to fund research projects up to $60,000 per year that are highly relevant to cystic fibrosis and are original, probing and/or pioneering a new approach.
Please submit a one page specific aims including reference to methodological approach on or before December 31, 2011.

After an initial review, selected applicants will be invited by January 17, 2012 to submit their full 10 page proposal to CFRI by February 28, 2012. After a peer review
process and approvals of the Research Advisory Committee and the Board of Directors,
grants will be awarded on April 20, 2012 for two years, to commence after June 1, 2012.
Support for a second year (2013-2014) is based on satisfactory progress in the first year
and the availability of funds.
Priority is given to proposals of superior scientific quality. This funding opportunity is open to research laboratories nationwide.
All proposals are subject to peer review by a group of scientists who are familiar with
cystic fibrosis research. The CFRI Research Advisory Committee then evaluates the
peer-reviews and the availability of funds. The Committee’s recommendation is ratified
by the CFRI Board of Directors.
